Temporary Impairments

If you have an injury or medical condition that is temporarily interfering with your ability to participate in the university's educational program, the SDC can provide temporary assistance. Depending on the nature of your impairment, the SDC can provide notetakers, readers, exam scribes, and other appropriate services. To receive these services, simply come to the SDC with documentation from your health care provider indicating the nature of your impairment, including information on your functional limitations and the expected duration of the impairment. You will meet with a Disability Specialist who will assess your needs and authorize services, as appropriate.

Mobility Assistance Shuttle

If you have a mobility impairment, Campus Recreation (CR) operates a Mobility Assistance Shuttle (MAS) service in conjunction with SDC. This service is offered on a subscription fee basis to students, staff, and faculty with mobility limitations. The SDC specialist for students with medical and mobility impairments reviews medical documentation provided by students, to determine how long they will be eligible to receive MAS rides. Students may receive rides for 1 week without medical documentation. Other mobility assistance services include referral for equipment sale, rental, or repair and accessibility consultation. Students with permanent mobility limitations are not charged for rides through the Mobility Assistance Shuttle (MAS) service.

Equipment-related Referral
