What is included in Media Captioning accommodations?
The Captioned Audio-Visual Materials and Captioning of Course Materials accommodations apply to any media that is presented, posted, and/or required to be viewed in a course. Students with Media Captioning accommodations must have equal access to all media-related materials in a course.
Can I make a request for Media Captioning after my initial accommodations are granted?
Yes. You may request additional accommodations at any time. Please schedule an appointment with your SDC Specialist to request a new accommodation and provide documentation if needed. If your request has been approved, please allow sufficient time for the instructor and the Communication Services Supervisor to coordinate your Media Captioning accommodation.
What do I do if media for my classes is not being captioned after I have received an accommodation?
If you feel your accommodations are not being met, or you have any questions or concerns, please notify your SDC Specialist.
Will Media Captioning still be provided even though I have a Realtime Captioner?
Yes, Media Captioning accommodations are separate from realtime captioning accommodations. All media must be captioned, even if a Realtime Captioner is present.
